DBS, the leading of financial service in Asia, held a competition that aims to invite teenagers to present their ideas and thoughts in the most convenient format for youth – stand-up. This Competition called ‘DBS Young Economist Stand-Up’. On October 23th, 2017, this competition has entered its final stage for the Top 10 semifinalists to be selected as the winners in the event Grand Final DBS YES 2017 in Jakarta.

Before entereing the Semifinal and Grandfinal stage, DBS Indonesia brought the top 22 participants in joining the DBS YES Camp. In this program, DBS Indonesia invited all participants to visit and had a discussion with businessmen and Regulators of Digital Economy. DBS also provided opportunities for participants to have an audience with Jusuf Kalla, Vice President of The Republic of Indonesia, Rudiantara, Communication and Information Minister of Indonesia, and Sri Mulyani, Finance Minister of Indonesia. In addition, participants also visited Google Indonesia, Bukalapak, and Net TV .

Quoting Mona Monika, the Head of Group Strategic Marketing and Communications of Bank DBS, explained that almost all semi-finalist on DBS YES raised the issue of infrastructure and digital economic outside of Java. The Grand Final Session announced Freddy Eddy as The Winner who received high appreciation from the judges for his ideas, spirit, and solution to improve digital economic in the very west of Indonesia, Papua.

This year, the DBS YES was able to receive 500 participations from Sabang to Merauke. Along with the high enthusiasm from participants, DBS has elevated and strengthen collaboration with millennials generation to provide the best solutions for the digital economy in Indonesia.”
