Lenovo Collaborates with Nutanix to Bring Hyperconverged Infrastructure to Enterprise Market in Indonesia

The collaboration integrates Lenovo’s enterprise systems with software from Nutanix that can rival the efficiency, performance and agility of a public cloud.

Jakarta, Indonesia – February 24th, 2016: Lenovo (HKSE: 992) (ADR: LNVGY), the number 1 PC vendor in the world and the third-largest global x86 server hardware supplier today announced their collaboration with Nutanix to bring hyperconverged infrastructure to enterprise market in Indonesia.

The two companies will introduce a new family of hyperconverged appliances built on Lenovo’s industry-leading enterprise systems, ranked number one in customer satisfaction1 and reliability2, and powered by the award-winning Nutanix software. This solution natively integrates compute, storage, and virtualization into a single x86-based appliance deployed in scale-out clusters. With this integration, data center complexity can be solved and it also can reduce IT cost. Based on research from IDC, companies spend roughly 70–80% of their annual IT budget on just keeping systems running3.

By simplifying the system, enterprises can focus more on their applications and services, which is the core of the business. This solution can also improve business agility by providing a compelling alternative to public cloud services. This collaboration also proves Lenovo’s strong commitment in IT industry, supporting Lenovo’s strategy to become the market leader in x86 servers and investing in the development and delivery of IT solutions to shape next-generation data centers.

“Lenovo can bring a new perspective to the global enterprise space. We do not have to protect old ways of thinking or entrenched ideas. Instead, we can build our business on innovation, and partner freely with the most innovative, leading companies in this space to create new solutions,” said Daniel Tan, Alliance Director, Enterprise Business Group Lenovo Asia Pacific. “Nutanix’s well recognized technology leadership, paired with our global reach, will enable both companies to thrive by helping customers dramatically reduce complexity in datacenters of all sizes,” he added.

We are collaborating with both Lenovo and Nutanix to drive enterprise optimization of server and storage systems based on Intel architecture,” said Yohan Wijaya, MNC Director Intel Indonesia.

This collaboration will also help Lenovo and Nutanix to reach wider audience, supported by Lenovo’s broad sales channel as well pre-sales and post-sales support from Nutanix. That solution will be sold through Lenovo’s channel partner worldwide, including Indonesia. Lenovo and Nutanix are also planning substantial investments in platform engineering and development, as well as aggressive go-to-market initiatives.

“Lenovo is the leader in technology market and trusted by thousands of enterprises all over the world through their innovative and high quality products,” said Pun Kok Lim, Managing Director Nutanix for ASEAN. “Collaborating with Lenovo is a milestone in our way to bring “invisible infrastructure” that has web-scale technology eficiency and the advanced of consumer-grade design, to companies in all sizes”.
