Jakarta, Indonesia – ZTE Corporation, a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment, network solutions and mobile devices, is pleased that the company’s industry-leading LTE solutions delivered exceptional performance in the 4G network stress test conducted by China Telecom in Shanghai.
ZTE’s 4G LTE solutions demonstrated outstanding capabilities in handling large surges in traffic volumes in periods of peak usage. During the stress test, a single cell site was accessed by a maximum of 450 subscribers simultaneously, with an access success rate of 100% and CPU load below 30%. The 450 subscribers accessed mobile video services at the same time, which increased the cell site’s throughput to more than 100Mbps – yet the CPU load was still lower than 9%.
In addition, the China Telecom network was proven to be resilient to signaling storm. When 450 subscribers executed paging and activating repeatedly, system KPIs were fully normal, and the CPU utilization was only about 36%. Hence the 4G network built by ZTE successfully handled the burst of large traffic, proving that the system can easily handle issues resulting from the signaling storm.

China Telecom, one of the three main operators in China, had 185 million mobile CDMA subscribers at the end of 2013, with more than 100 million being active 3G subscribers. By comparison, the total number of 3G users in Indonesia currently stands at about 46 million.
The 4G networks constructed by ZTE lead the industry globally in performance, and were proven through various comprehensive performance tests. In Hong Kong, CSL’s network performance was ranked No. 1 in third-party evaluation. In Austria, H3G’s wireless KPIs topped the third party test. In Belgium, BASE ranked No. 2 in the third party test, and in Germany, e-Plus’s mobile network achieved outstanding performance.

ZTE’s 4G LTE solutions delivered outstanding performance during the Summer Davos Forum 2014. During this event, ZTE and China Mobile worked closely to provide an excellent 4G network guarantee solution which successfully guaranteed the smooth 4G telecommunication in the Tianjin Davos Forum and the HD live broadcast of the forum to the world. Both parties also enabled the double-layer carrier coverage in the main venue to provide a 40MHz network with the network capacity doubled than the single-layer carrier of a 20MHz network, which not only guaranteed the best network experience but also provided sufficient bandwidth for the live HD 4G wireless video broadcast.
ZTE and China Mobile in Liaoning Jointly Provides Excellent TD-LTE Network Guarantee for The 16th Dalian International Beer Festival in July and August 2014. The beer festival attracted 1.5 million Chinese and foreign tourists, averaging more than 10,000 a day. The Dalian TD-LTE network successfully withstood the traffic surge during this beer festival, especially the extreme traffic surge of nearly 800 user connections on the day of the opening ceremony. According to the backstage data, during this festival, the success rate of RRC connections, the wireless connection rate of cells, and the success rate of intra-system switchovers exceeded 99.8%, 99.7% and 99.5% respectively, and the paging congestion rate was 0% .
ZTE’s 4G LTE solutions delivered outstanding performance in the concert of Eason Chan in the Olympic Stadium in Shenyang in August, which attracted 38,000 fans. China Mobile in Liaoning, built by ZTE, achieved RRC connections success rate exceeding 99.5%, and E-RAB connections success rate of more than 99.7% during the event.The TD-LTE network witnessed its traffic peak with the biggest number of RRC connections exceeding 200.
